Au revoir nos amis,
With considerable esteem and affection for you, we announce the closure of La Bohème Restaurant, anticipated to occur mid-November. Our lease is up for renewal at the end of that month, and we can no longer accept the annual increases demanded by the landlord.
We will take a sabbatical of an undetermined length, and will decompress, experience life outside the restaurant business, and decide what Act II and the next course will be.
There will be a private sale of the restaurant furnishings, decorations and inventory, probably November 18th and 19th, to which you are invited. We'd like the people who care about the restaurant to have the first opportunity to purchase a memento of it if they'd like. Specific information regarding the closing date and sale will be available on our website once they have been established.
We've shared a lifetime together, some of us, and we have a profound appreciation for you, the time we've spent together, and our common experience. We've enjoyed getting to know you and your families, seeing children grow and bring children of their own for dinner, and sharing many significant moments together over these many years. A fond farewell to all of you, and we look forward to seeing you in the coming weeks.
